Quilting by the River
Identity and Web Design
Quilting by the River is run independently by Carla Alexiuk, an experienced quilting instructor with more than 30 years of expertise. Rooted in the tradition and craftsmanship that define her work, the identity was designed to reflect the classic nature of her quilting practice while also acknowledging the landscape that surrounds her studio. Drawing inspiration from traditional quilt blocks—such as half-square triangles and flying geese—the final mark forms a simple landscape of trees and a flowing river, echoing the everyday scenery at QBTR’s riverside location.
The accompanying website was designed to give Carla's growing range of offerings a clearer structure and more accessible format, while also featuring a dedicated space for The Loft, a sister business offering creative retreat experiences.
Brand Colours

Colour My Quilt was designed to showcase the beauty in simplicity.
Criss-Cross was inspired by a map of the Caribbean, with ships criss-crossing from island to island.
Quarry requires no triangles to cut and no fussing with points—endless possibilities.
