Librairie Panache
Identity + collateral material
Librairie Panache was an independent French-language bookstore dedicated to cultivating a love of reading through carefully curated literature, community events, and children's storytimes. Located in Northern Ontario, the bookstore served as a welcoming space where families could discover French-language books while connecting with local culture and one another.
The identity explored themes of curiosity, northern identity, and discovery through a series of concepts inspired by books, bookmarks, and the iconic woodland caribou. From expressive explorations to refined symbols, the process became an exercise in balancing playfulness with clarity.
Special thanks to Chloé LaDuchesse and Monica Meza Giron for the opportunity to collaborate on this project.
Identity Evolution

Refined Mark
Final Identity
The original brief called for an identity that reflected Northern Ontario through the silhouette of caribou antlers—while remaining playful, approachable, and engaging for children. Although the initial concept captured much of that spirit, the project gradually shifted toward a more minimalist direction as additional stakeholders became involved. The final identity distilled one element from the original concept into a simple bookmark mark which subtly doubles as a rocket, and that retained a sense of discovery while offering greater versatility.

While the final identity evolved toward a more minimal expression, the original antler concept remains one of my favourite explorations from the project, capturing the playful northern spirit envisioned in the initial brief.
